Red Bull Racing have formally completed the departure of long-time advisor Helmut Marko, bringing an end to a significant chapter in the team’s history. Although the split was announced shortly after the Abu Dhabi season finale, it has now been officially recorded, confirming that Marko is no longer connected to the Formula 1 operation.
Company records show that Marko was removed from his position as a director of Red Bull Racing on December 19. The confirmation came via Companies House, the UK government body responsible for company registrations, making the separation legally and administratively final.
On the same day, Red Bull registered a new director, Alistair David Rew, who currently serves as the chief financial officer of Red Bull GmbH. His appointment signals a shift toward tighter corporate oversight rather than a direct sporting replacement for Marko’s former advisory role.
Rew already holds directorships across several Red Bull-related sporting divisions, including Advanced Technologies and Powertrains. While his precise responsibilities within the Formula 1 team have not been outlined, his involvement suggests a broader structural role across Red Bull’s racing operations.
Despite these changes, Laurent Mekies is still expected to remain the key figure overseeing Red Bull’s Formula 1 team on a day-to-day basis. As the organisation looks ahead to future seasons, the leadership reshuffle underlines a strategic transition rather than an immediate change in competitive direction.
