Two adjustments have been confirmed for the Sprint starting order at the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix. The changes were announced ahead of the session and will impact how the field lines up at the Losail International Circuit.
Alpine revealed that both Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto will be starting the Sprint from the pit lane. The team made set-up modifications after the cars were placed under Parc Fermé rules, which triggers an automatic pit-lane start.
Despite their move to the pit lane, no other drivers will benefit from a grid boost. Gasly and Colapinto had already qualified 19th and 20th in Sprint Qualifying, meaning their positions don’t affect anyone else.
The situation initially seemed limited to Alpine, but there has been a further development since the first announcement. Another high-profile name is now affected.
It has now been confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will also start from the pit lane, adding another twist to the Sprint lineup in Qatar.
