Lando Norris has shared his hopes for the future, admitting he would welcome more on-track battles with Lewis Hamilton in the coming Formula 1 seasons. The newly crowned world champion believes the competition would elevate the sport and push drivers to perform at their best.
Norris secured his first F1 title after finishing third at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a result that was enough to edge out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just two points. The narrow margin underlined the intensity of the 2025 championship fight.
Reflecting on his breakthrough season, the McLaren driver said racing against experienced champions like Hamilton is something he truly enjoys. He views such duels as a valuable learning experience, especially against drivers who have shaped modern F1.
Norris also expressed confidence that Hamilton and Ferrari will rebound strongly in 2026. Despite a challenging period, he believes the combination of Hamilton’s talent and Ferrari’s resources makes them a serious future threat.
Looking ahead, Norris hopes the next season will feature closer competition at the front of the grid. For him, battling legends like Hamilton while defending his title would be the ideal challenge and a sign of a healthy, competitive Formula 1.
