Isack Hadjar has played down the significance of securing a promotion to Red Bull for the 2026 Formula 1 season, insisting that simply signing a contract does not count as an achievement in his eyes. The 21-year-old believes real success will only come if he can meet the high expectations placed on drivers at the six-time constructors’ champions.
After an impressive rookie season with Racing Bulls, Hadjar earned his step up to Red Bull’s senior team. Strong performances throughout 2025, including his first F1 podium at the Dutch Grand Prix, laid the foundation for the move. Despite this rapid rise, the Frenchman remains clear that the deal itself is not something he feels proud of yet.
Hadjar described his promotion as just another stage in a demanding journey rather than a milestone to celebrate. He stressed that true accomplishment will come only if he delivers results and performs consistently at Red Bull, where pressure has overwhelmed several drivers before him.
The young driver acknowledged that reaching the main team has been a long and difficult process through Red Bull’s junior programme. While the reality of lining up alongside the world’s best can sometimes feel surreal, he also explained that the sensation quickly fades into normality because racing is all he has ever focused on.
Even if he refuses to label the move an achievement, Hadjar admitted it remains a special moment for him and his family. After years of sacrifice and effort, he said the promotion is something they can all enjoy, calling it an “awesome moment” that reflects the long road they have travelled together.
