
A senior music executive who says he was among Michael Jackson’s closest associates has spoken out about why he never challenged the singer over the child abuse allegations that surrounded him. According to Dan Beck, those issues were largely avoided within Jackson’s professional circle.
Beck, a well-known marketing executive, worked closely with the pop icon for several years. He played a key role as product manager on Jackson’s landmark 1995 double album HIStory, one of the most significant releases of the singer’s career.
In his memoir, You’ve Got Michael: Living Through HIStory, Beck describes himself as Jackson’s primary marketing liaison at Epic Records. He explains that this position placed him in regular, direct contact with the artist during a critical period of his career.
