According to director Joseph Kosinski, an important email sent to Hamilton proved to be a turning point in the project’s development, helping to guide the direction and credibility of the Formula 1-based film.
Released globally on June 12 earlier this year, F1 The Movie quickly captured the attention of audiences and surged to the top of the sports film genre.
The film has since shattered records, earning more than $630 million at the global box office and officially becoming the highest-grossing sports movie of all time.
Audience reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, reflected in a remarkable 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the success also marks a career milestone for Brad Pitt, making it his biggest box-office hit to date.
