Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark is stepping away from basketball and heading to the golf course with a lighthearted attitude. After an injury-shortened sophomore WNBA season that limited her to just 13 games, Clark recently revealed she will soon make her next athletic appearance—not on the hardwood, but on the fairways of Florida.
The 23-year-old guard is set to compete in The Annika Pro-Am at the Pelican Golf Club next month. The prestigious event, hosted by golf legend Annika Sorenstam, gathers top athletes and celebrities for a weekend of fun competition. This will mark Clark’s second appearance at the tournament, having played alongside Sorenstam and world No. 1 Nelly Korda during last year’s edition.
Known for her humor and confidence, Clark took to Instagram to share her tongue-in-cheek promise ahead of the event. “Will try not to hit anyone,” she wrote, adding a praying emoji—a playful nod to her still-developing golf skills. The lighthearted comment quickly caught fans’ attention, showing her fun personality off the court.
Despite her jokes, Clark’s competitive edge remains intact. With a $3.25 million prize on the line, the Fever star will no doubt bring her signature focus and drive to the greens. She may be a relative newcomer to golf, but her athletic instincts and love of competition could make her a surprise contender.
For now, though, Clark’s main goal seems to be enjoying the experience—and maybe keeping fellow players out of the line of fire. With her humor, charm, and determination, Caitlin Clark looks set to make her return to sports in style, one swing at a time.
