Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has described the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as “not a bad weekend” for the Scuderia. Both of the team’s drivers, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, managed to score points in the final race of the season, giving the team a positive note to end on.
Leclerc narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth after a strong challenge against champion-elect Lando Norris. Meanwhile, Hamilton recovered impressively from a poor P16 starting position to claim eighth place at the Yas Marina Circuit, showing resilience and skill throughout the race.
Vasseur highlighted the team’s progress over the weekend. He noted that despite a challenging start on Friday, the combined efforts of the trackside team and the factory allowed Ferrari to improve their pace and performance for Saturday and the race itself.
Reflecting on the race, Vasseur said that while the team matched Norris’s pace during the Grand Prix, the weekend’s struggles began earlier, particularly on Friday, which impacted their overall results. He emphasized that the weekend’s performance was a positive step forward despite the hurdles.
The Abu Dhabi race concludes a difficult season for Ferrari. The Italian team did not secure a single victory and ended fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, a significant 435 points behind season champions McLaren, highlighting the challenges Ferrari faces heading into 2026.
